As a Jew born in Brooklyn, New York, I couldn’t predict that I would one day find Christ in Idaho. But I did. From that day just after my 21st birthday until my early fifties, I attended faith communities that used emotional manipulation to control members. My experience in these organizations might have embittered me to the church, but this did not happen. Thankfully, I found freedom in Christ and learned the true meaning of grace while attending a Christ-centered church led by a strong and humble leader. Now, I am committed to using my experience in unhealthy faith communities to help others find freedom in Christ.
